Who we are
This website (chartandcard.com and chartandcard.pages.dev) belongs to ChartAndCard, a small online shop. We are the controller of the personal data described here. Questions about your data? Email chartandcard@protonmail.com.
Your birth data stays on your device
The birth chart calculator runs entirely inside your browser. The date, time and place you enter are used only on your own device to calculate your chart. They are never sent to us or to anyone else, and they are not saved: when you close or reload the page, they are gone. We cannot see them.
No cookies, no tracking
This website uses no cookies, no local storage, no analytics, no advertising and no social media buttons. It loads nothing from other websites: all text, fonts and code come with the page itself. The only thing your browser may remember for this website is the error-reporting setting described below; it is not a cookie and contains no personal data.
What data is processed, and why
Like every website, the page has to be sent to your browser. To do that, our hosting provider receives basic technical data from your browser: your IP address, the page you ask for, the date and time, and technical details such as your browser type. This data is used only to deliver the page to you and to keep the website secure and available, for example to block attacks.
Our hosting provider also asks your browser to report network errors, for example when the page could not be loaded. Your browser then sends a short error report to Cloudflare. It contains technical data only: the page address, the type of error, the time, your IP address and your browser type. It never contains your birth data. Cloudflare uses these reports only to keep the website working.
Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running a working and secure website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). We do not use this data to identify you, to build a profile or for marketing.
Our hosting provider
The website is hosted by Cloudflare, Inc. (Cloudflare Pages), which also manages our domain name. Cloudflare processes the technical data on our behalf, as our processor, under a data processing agreement. We have turned off Cloudflare's optional visitor statistics and other extra features that are not needed to deliver the page.
Transfers outside the EU
Cloudflare is based in the United States and may process the technical data there or in other countries. Cloudflare is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, which the European Commission has found to give an adequate level of protection. Cloudflare's data processing agreement also includes the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long the data is kept
We do not keep any of this data ourselves. We cannot see individual visits; at most our hosting account shows anonymous totals, such as the number of page views per day. Cloudflare keeps the technical data only as long as needed to deliver the page and protect the website, as described in Cloudflare's privacy policy (cloudflare.com/privacypolicy).
Your rights
You have the right to ask for access to your personal data, and to ask us to correct or delete it, to limit its use, or to transfer it. You also have the right to object at any time to processing based on our legitimate interest. Email us at chartandcard@protonmail.com. Please note that we do not store data that lets us link a visit to you, so we may not be able to find any data about you. We do not use automated decision-making or profiling.
Complaints
If you think we handle your data incorrectly, please contact us first. You also have the right to file a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority (Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit), Drukpersstraat 35, 1000 Brussels, Belgium, www.dataprotectionauthority.be, or with the data protection authority where you live.
